Vsebina: Parcialne diferencialne enačbe matematične fizike: Difuzijska enačba, Schoedingerjeva enačba, valovna enačba. Robni in začetni pogoji: Amplitudna enačba. Lastne rešitve linearnih operatorjev in potrebni robni pogoji. Razvoj po lastnih funkcijah: Nehomogena amplitudna enačba. Homogena amplitudna enačba z nehomogenimi robnimi pogoji. Separabilne lastne rešitve amplitudne enačbe: Kartezične, cilindrične in krogelne koordinate. Rešitve v neomejenem prostoru: potujoči valovi. Sipanje. Laplaceova enačba: Rešitve v različnih koordinatnih sistemih. Multipolni razvoj. Greenove funkcije: Reševanje nehomogenih amplitudnih enačb. Stacionarne in časovno odvisne Greenove funkcije. Content (Syllabus outline): Partial differential equations of mathematical physics: Diffusion equation, Eschroedinger equation, wave equation. Boundary and intial conditions: Amplitude equation. Eigenfunctions of linear operators and necessary boundary conditions. Eigenfunction expansion: Inhomogeneous amplitude equation. Homogeneous equation with inhomogeneous boundary conditions. Separable solutions of amplitude equation: Cartesian, cylindiric and spherical coordinates. Solutions in unbounded media: propagating waves. Scattering. Laplace equation: Solutions in different coordinate systems. Multipole expansion. Green's functions: Solutions of inhomogeneous amplitude equations. Static and time dependent Green's functions. 150

Cilji in kompetence: Uvedba in reševanje osnovnih tipov parcialnih diferencialnih enačb matematične fizike kot osnova za uporabo v predmetih teoretične fizike. Objectives and competences: Introduction and methods for solutions of basic partial differential equations of mathematical physics as the basis for further application in courses of theoretical physics. Predvideni študijski rezultati: Znanje in razumevanje Razumevanje splošne strukture enačb matematične fizike in spoznavanje pristopov k reševanju teh enačb. Sposobnost matematičnega formuliranja fizikalnih problemov. Intended learning outcomes: Knowledge and understanding: Understanding of general structure of basic equations of mathematical physics and introduction into approaches to solve such equations. Uporaba Priprava matematičnih orodij za predmete teoretične fizike. Refleksija Razumevanje odnosa med realnim fizikalnim pojavom in njegovo matematično idealizacijo. Prenosljive spretnosti - niso vezane le na en predmet Veščina izvedbe konkretnega projekta iz enačb matematične fizike in priprave strokovnega poročila. Application: Introduction to mathematical tools for the courses of theoretical physics. Reflection: Understanding of the relation between the physical phenomena and their mathematical idealization. Transferable skills: Solution of a concrete project with the subject of mathematical physics and the preparation of the report. Metode poučevanja in učenja: Predavanja, vaje, konzultacije. Individualna domača naloga - projekt. Learning and teaching methods: Lectures, exercises, consultations. Individual project. Načini ocenjevanja: 3 kolokviji, zahtevan 50% uspeh.
