Vsebina: Predmet se izvaja v obliki izbranih poglavij. Obravnavane vsebine oz. teme se iz leta v leto spreminjajo. Predavanja so povezana s seminarjem. Predmet se vsebinsko povezuje s predmetom Terensko delo. Paleolitik in mezolitik Slovenije in povezanost z Evropo, predvsem Balkanom, Apeninskim polotokom in Centralno Evropo. Problematika prehoda med srednjim in mlajšim paleolitikom v Evropi prihod modernega človeka in izumrtje neandertalca. Teorije o kognitivnih sposobnostih neandertalca in modernega človeka ter teorije o razvoju simboličnega mišljenja pri človeku. Poglobljeno seznanjanje z zgodnjimi orodji in paleolitsko "umetnostjo". Content (Syllabus outline): The course consists of selected topics. The discussed topics change from one year to another. Lectures are connected to the seminar. This course is regarding contents linked with the course Fieldwork. Palaeolithic and Mesolithic in Slovenia and their connection to Europe, especially the Balkans, Apennine Peninsula, and Central Europe. Issues regarding the transition from the Middle and Later Palaeolithic in Europe the arrival of the modern man and the extinction of the Neanderthal. Theories about cognitive abilities of the Neanderthal and modern man, and theories about the development of man s symbolic thinking. Thorough acknowledgement of early artefacts and "Paleolithic art". Predvideni študijski rezultati: Znanje in razumevanje: Poglobljeno znanje o paleolitskih in mezolitskih kulturah ter njihovi povezanosti z razvojem človeka in njegovega mišljenja. Poglobljeno razumevanje problematike teorij o razširitvi modernega človeka po svetu. Poznavanje slovenskega paleolitika in mezolitika. Intended learning outcomes: Knowledge and understanding: Thorough knowledge of Palaeolithic and Mesolithic cultures and their connection with the development of man and his thinking. Indepth understanding of issues regarding theories about the expansion of modern man around the world. Knowledge of the Slovenian Palaeolithic and Mesolithic periods. Predavanja, raziskovalni seminar. Lectures, seminar. Načini ocenjevanja: Način (pisni izpit, ustno izpraševanje, naloge, projekt) Delež (v %) / Weight (in %) Assessment: Type (examination, oral, coursework, project): Izpit. Seminarska naloga (izbirno). V primeru izbire seminarske naloge je izpit dvodelen (izpit in seminarska naloga). Ocena je skupna. Aktivna udeležba in opravljene obveznosti pri seminarju so pogoj za pristop k izpitu. Izbirna seminarska naloga se ocenjuje ločeno in ni pogoj za pristop k izpitu. Pri seminarju je zahtevana najmanj 80%-na prisotnost. Vsak izostanek mora biti opravičen. Ocenjevalna lestvica: od 5 do 10 (5 negativno, 6-10 pozitivno), skladno s Statutom Univerze v Ljubljani in Pravilnikom o izpitnem redu in drugih oblikah preverjanja in ocenjevanja znanja Filozofske fakultete. V primeru izbire seminarske naloge: izpit 50%, seminarska naloga 50% / If seminar paper is chosen the examination is twopartite: exam 50% and seminar paper 50%. If seminar paper is chosen the examination is twopartite (exam and seminar paper). Final grade is calculated from the two grades obtained. Active participation and completed seminar assignments are required in order to take the exam. The optional seminar paper is assessed independently and is not a requirement for taking the exam. A minimal attendance of 80% is required in the seminar. Every absence must be excused. Assessment scale: 6 10 (positive) or 5 (negative); in line with the Statute of the University of Ljubljana and the faculty's examination rules. Diplomirala je iz geologije na Fakulteti za naravoslovje in tehnologijo Univerze v Ljubljani, magistrirala in doktorirala pa iz arheologije na Filozofski fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani. Ukvarja se s preiskavami sledov uporabe na kamenih orodjih in paleolitsko umetnostjo. Od leta 2004 na Oddelku za arheologijo Filozofske fakultete poučuje arheologijo paleolitika in mezolitika. She graduated at the Department of Geology, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering at the University of Ljubljana, and attained her MA and PhD in archaeology at the University of Ljubljana in 2001. She deals with use-wear studies on stone tools and Palaeolithic art. Since 2004 she has been teaching Archaeology of Palaeolithic and Mesolithic at the Department of Archaeology, Faculty of Arts.
