Povezanost naselbinskih oblik in struktur z gospodarskim in družbenim kontekstom. Pristopi v raziskavah podeželja. Razvoj vasi in poljske razdelitve v luči razvoja fevdalnih družbenih oblik in gospodarskih strategij. Razvoj kmečkih bivališč in gospodarskih objektov, nastanek kmetije kot arhitekturnega kompleksa. Content (Syllabus outline): Settlement development in the feudal era: villages formation, castles and other fortifications, urbanization. Interconnectedness of settlement forms and structures with their economic and social contexts. Approaches current in rural settlement studies. Development of villages and field systems in the light of the evolution of the feudal social forms and economic strategies. Skupno mora študent/ka v 4. semestru izdelati dve seminarski nalogi. / An additional ECTS credit is awarded upon submission of an optional seminar paper. Srednjeveški grad kot gospodarsko središče, bivališče fevdalca in vojaška utrdba. Metode in pristopi v raziskovanju gradov. Zgodnje oblike gradov in nadaljnji stavbni razvoj, povezanost fortifikacijskih elementov s sočasno vojaško tehniko. Praktične funkcije (rezidenčna, gospodarska, vojaška) in simbolni pomen gradov. Srednjeveška urbana civilizacija: korenine, pravna in družbena specifika. Arheološki kriteriji urbanosti. Razvoj arhitekture in urbanizma, komunalna infrastruktura, gospodarstvo, versko življenje. Socialna diferenciacija, multietničnost in multikulturnost. Development of architecture and urban design, communal infrastructure, economy, religious life. Social differentiation, multiethnicity and multiculturalism. Predmet je namenjen spoznavanju specifičnih oblik poselitve v fevdalni dobi: vasi idr. podeželskih naselij, elitne rezidenčne in utrdbene arhitekture (gradovi, utrdbe, dvorci, palače) in srednjeveških mest. Študentje in študentke spoznavajo integralne, interdisciplinarne raziskovalne pristope in specifiko arheoloških raziskav kompleksnih naselbinskih najdišč. Cilj predmeta je razumevanje vpetosti poselitvenih struktur in vzorcev v širši družbeno-gospodarski kontekst fevdalne dobe ter razkrivanje genetskih povezav s sodobno kulturno krajino in urbanizmom. Predmetno specifične kompetence: - osnovno poznavanje nastanka, razvoja in bistvenih značilnosti specifičnih naselbinskih oblik in poselitvenih vzorcev fevdalne dobe v Evropi, - poznavanje temeljnih raziskovalnih metod in pristopov ter razumevanje kompleksnosti arheološkega zapisa na takšnih najdiščih, - razumevanje genetskih povezav med današnjimi ruralnimi in urbanimi krajinami in njihovimi srednjeveškimi predniki. Predvideni študijski rezultati: Znanje in razumevanje: 1. Poznavanje specifičnih poselitvenih struktur in vzorcev fevdalne dobe v Evropi. 2. Razumevanje povezav med konkretnimi naselbinskimi oblikami in organizacijo poselitve ter njihovim družbenogospodarskim kontekstom. 3. Poznavanje metod, pristopov in specifike arheoloških raziskav naselbinskih najdišč in arhitekture srednjega in novega veka. The course objective is to introduce students to the specific settlement types of the feudal era: villages and other rural settlements, elite residences and military architecture (castles, fortifications, mansions, palaces) and medieval urban settlements. Students get acquainted with the integral, interdisciplinary research approaches and with the specifics of archaeological investigation of complex settlement sites. The aim of this course is to achieve understanding of the embeddedness of settlement structures and patterns into the wider socio-economic context of the feudal era and to disclose the genetic links with the modern cultural landscapes and urbanism. Subject-specific competences: - basic knowledge about the formation, development and key traits of the specific settlement types and patterns of the feudal era in Europe, - knowledge of key research methods and approaches and understanding of the complexity of archaeological record on such sites, - understanding the genetic links between the present rural and urban scapes and their medieval predecessors. Intended learning outcomes: Knowledge and understanding: 1. Knowledge about the specific settlement structures and patterns of the feudal era in Europe. 2. Understanding the links existing between the specific settlement types and the organization of settlement povezav on the one hand and their socio-economic contexts on the other. 3. Knowledge of the methods, approaches and specifics of the archaeological research into settlement sites and architecture of the medieval and postmedieval periods.
Metode poučevanja in učenja: Predavanja, sodelovalno učenje / poučevanje, delo v skupinah (seminar), samostojno učenje raziskovanje (seminar). Načini ocenjevanja: Način (pisni izpit, ustno izpraševanje, naloge, projekt) Delež (v %) / Weight (in %) Learning and teaching methods: Lectures, interactive learning/teaching, team work (seminar), self-dependent learning research (seminar). Assessment: Type (examination, oral, coursework, project): Izpit. Seminarska naloga (izbirno), ki naj obsega predvidoma 5000 6000 besed. Zanjo študent/ka pridobi dodatno ECTS točko. Aktivna udeležba in opravljene obveznosti pri seminarju so pogoj za pristop k izpitu. Izbirna seminarska naloga se ocenjuje ločeno in ni pogoj za pristop k izpitu. Pri seminarju je zahtevana najmanj 80%-na prisotnost. Vsak izostanek mora biti opravičen. Ocenjevalna lestvica: od 5 do 10 (5 negativno, 6-10 pozitivno), skladno s Statutom Univerze v Ljubljani in Pravilnikom o izpitnem redu in drugih oblikah preverjanja in ocenjevanja znanja Filozofske fakultete. Ob izbiri seminarske naloge: - izpit 60%, - seminarska naloga 40%. / Upon choosing to write a seminar paper: - exam 60%, - seminar paper 40%. Examination. Seminar paper (optional). Paper length limited to 5000 6000 words. For writing a paper the student is awarded an additional ECTS credit. Active participation and completed seminar assignments are required in order to take the exam. The optional seminar paper is assessed independently and is not a requirement for taking the exam. A minimal attendance of 80% is required in the seminar. Every absence must be excused. Assessment scale: 6 10 (positive) or 5 (negative); in line with the Statute of the University of Ljubljana and the faculty's examination rules. Prof. Dr. Katarina Katja PREDOVNIK, Filozofska fakulteta Univerze v Ljubljani, Oddelek za arheologijo Diplomirala in doktorirala je iz arheologije na Filozofski fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani (Oddelek za arheologijo). Leta 1994 se je usposabljala za arheologijo mlajših obdobij na Univerzi v Durhamu (Velika Britanija). Leta 1996 je za diplomsko delo prejela Prešernovo nagrado za študente Univerze v Ljubljani, leta 2004 pa priznanje KS Podbočje za raziskovalno delo na Starem gradu nad Podbočjem. Kot raziskovalka se ukvarja z arheologijo mlajših obdobij, posebno še z arheološkimi raziskavami srednjeveških gradov in drobne materialne kulture, pa tudi z
arheološko teorijo. Je članica stalnega odbora mednarodnega kastelološkega združenja Castrum Bene(od 2003) in odbora Kongresa za raziskovanje srednjeveške Evrope pri Evropskem združenju arheologov (od 2012), glavna urednica serije Archaeologia historica Slovenica (od 2003) ter članica uredniških odborov revij Arheo. Glasilo Slovenskega arheološkega društva (od 1999 do 2006) in romunske revije Arheologia medievală (od 2007). Leta 1998 se je zaposlila na Filozofski fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani kot stažistka asistentka in od leta 2002 kot visokošolska učiteljica poučuje predmet Arheologija mlajših obdobij. Pedagoško sodeluje z Univerzo v Zagrebu, Univerzo na Dunaju in Univerzo v Sarajevu. She graduated and obtained her PhD in archaeology at the Department of Archaeology at the University of Ljubljana. In 1994 she studied the archaeology of later periods at the University of Durham (United Kingdom). In 1996 she received the Prešeren Award for students of the University of Ljubljana and in 2004 she was awarded a certificate of KS Podbočje for her research work on the site of Stari grad above Podbočje. Her research areas include the archaeology of later periods, especially the archaeological research of medieval castles and small finds and also theory of archaeology. She is a member of the international castelological society Castrum Bene (since 2003) and of the The Medieval Europe Research Congress at European Association of Archaeologists (since 2012). She is the editor of the Archaeologia historica Slovenica series (since 2003) and on editorial board of Arheo (1999 to 2006), and Arheologia medievală (since 2007). Since 1998 she has been employed at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ljubljana as assistant and since 2002 as lecturer. She teaches the Archaeology of Later Periods course.
