CPA Volunteer News - call 216-291-3902 for all inquiries Thank You, Volunteers Many thanks to the following volunteers who conducted major summer home repairs during the month of September: Ron Minor Greg Feast, Park Construction & Improvements Superior Carpet and Tile Care We also appreciate some members of a South Euclid knitting group, Busy Hands Knitters, who are donating hats, scarves, shawls, pot holders, and lap blankets to our older adults in need. Attention: Community Volunteers Needed Beginning in January, our Adopt an Older Adult program will take place. It is a great way to serve older adults who do not have family or friends to help them. To volunteer, please call the Community Partnership on Aging at at 216-291-3902. Major Summer Repair Projects Helped Many Individuals! During the months of June, July, August, and September, 106 skilled volunteers from area businesses, hospitals, and churches conducted significant repairs at a total of eighteen homes in our five-city area. These volunteers completed more than 435 hours of service and team leaders were invited to a special breakfast in late-october. If you would like to fill out an application for future projects, check this newsletter for more information in March! Quote of the Month To see the earth as we now see it, small and beautiful in that eternal silence where it floats, is to see ourselves as riders on the earth together, brothers [and sisters] on that bright loveliness in the unending light.... Archibald Macleish The Heart of a Volunteer Several volunteers from State Industrial Products provided their own cleaning solution and elbow grease to clean walls at a Mayfield Heights apartment. Thanks to Carol Brennan and Michele McIntosh for organizing the project! Community Partnership on Aging November 2015 ~ 2 ~
