Vsebina: Predmet vsebuje zgodovinski pregled prostorskih in krajinskih vidikov v arheoloških interpretacijah po posameznih nacionalnih šolah: antropogeografska arheologija (Altlandschaftsforschungen, Siedlungsarchaölogie, Geographic Archaeology), socio-ekološke pristope nove arheologije, prostorsko arheologijo (D. Clarke), ameriško naselbinsko arheologijo, historični pristop W. Hoskinsa, sodobne poprocesne teorije arheologije krajine. V metodološkem delu se študentje seznanijo s temeljnimi koncepti in metodami lokacijskih analiz, analizami distribucij in kvantitativnimi (računalniško podprtimi) metodami analize korpusov prostorskih podatkov ter njihovo vizualizacijo. Content (Syllabus outline): The course contains a historical overview of spatial and landscape aspects of archaeological interpretations according to various national schools: Anthropogeographical archaeology (Altlandschaftsforschungen, Siedlungsarchaölogie, Geographic Archaeology), a socio-ecological approach of new archeology, Spatial archeology (D. Clarke), American settlement archaeology, the historical approach of W. Hoskins, modern post-processual theories of landscape archeology. The methodological work is meant to acquaint students with basic concepts and methods of location analysis, analyses of distribution and quantitative (computer-based) methods of spatial data corpora analysis, along with their visualization. Razumevanje in uporaba fizično in družbenogeografskih, lokacijskih, ekonomskih in kulturnih prostorskih konceptov in teorij v arheološki interpretaciji. Pridobivanje znanja in analitičnih tehnik o distribucijskih in drugih prostorskih vidikih poselitvenih procesov ter analiza in interpretacija organizacije prostora, spoznavanje koncepta kulturne krajine in njenih manifestacij v arheološkem zapisu. Razumevanje in obvladovanje osnovnih kvantitativnih analitičnih postopkov povečuje njihovo zmožnost interpretacije rezultatov. Understanding and application of physical and socio-geographic, locational, economic, and cultural spatial concepts and theories in archaeological interpretation. Acquisition of knowledge and analytical techniques of distributional and other spatial aspects of the settlement processes, and the analysis and interpretation of spatial organization, learning about the concept of cultural landscape, along with its manifestations in the archaeological records. Students develop the ability of interdisciplinary thinking and of reflecting the applications of geographic - and other spatial and landscape - concepts and categories in archaeological research. Exercises in quantitative methods and computer methods of processing spatial and other data are also intended as a part of the course, with which the students will gain additional skills to solve archaeological problems. Intended learning outcomes: Knowledge and understanding: Students understand and are able to use the fundamental physical-and socio-geographical concepts and categories, relevant to the archaeological and wider social and cultural interpretation in archeology (settlement processes, spatial organization, cultural landscape etc.). The understanding and mastery of basic quantitative analytical procedures increases their ability to interpret the results. Metode poučevanja in učenja: Predavanja, vaje. Learning and teaching methods: Lectures, tutorial.
